Give Peace a Chance - Joan says hi!

Joan sent us this picture from her book "Give Peace a chance" - get it over at Amazon. During the week she would call us up and read an essay out of it. This was one of the highpoints of each day.
Two of the stories she has in the book she never got around to but she told us we could hear them some other time - feels reassuring!

One thing that happens during a Bed-in is that your perception of time gets altered in a very radical way. We have to admit we did plan on keeping ourselves busy during the week and busy we were, so busy we didn't have time to post stuff here on the blog as frequently as we would have wanted to - but come to think of it, it was probably due to that same phenomena, the perception of time. Perhaps we moved very, very slowly inside. It is a good feeling anyways, slowing down is a good thing.

Here is one of the original photos Joan sent us. She sent us more, and some real gems... but we can't publish them here. They are NOT out there yet.

When Finland says "YES" - You should to!

Ok, I do realize posting a picture of something you can see live in the menu to the right is a very silly idea. But the number of participants in the festival amazes me. And more are coming in every day. We are one week away from heading into our Peace Room. I am psyched. And the cloud is getting really crowded... will it turn all black before the 25th?

We spoke to Juha in Finland yesterday on Facebook. He is the Finish co-ordinator of The World March for Peace. We decided to do a live video event at their rally the eve of the 27th of Oct, with us In Bed for Peace here in Stockholm and them manifesting in Finland for Peace. Look out for info as we close in on the event!

Soon on a computer near you!

PS: We are still looking for food! Peace!

Badminton practice?

This morning I eat breakfast and drank coffee with Stephen and then Love came to and we played smashball in the sun together in the yard. Waking up the last neighbor sleeping.
It was great.
We also talked a bit about nonviolence and a book I´m reading...
It was good for me to play some racket, I feel that it is important that I workout before the bed-in. If you know what I mean.
Actually, if anyone would like to play badminton with me or some other sport before the bed-in I would be very glad. I especially like badminton and I need to practice it before the bed-in because we might have a sports competition during the week. So if you would like to play badminton with me just give me a call. If you have my number. If you don´t have my number you can contact me on facebook or something if you feel that it would not be to weird.

Anyway we need to get TV interested in showing our dances for peace in their morning show. we need to make them understand that this will look absolutely amazing in a TV screen. We are working on it.

Now I´m going to stand on my head for ten minutes.
A good friend of mine told me it gets the metabolism going.

In the name of peace

Press conference and The World March takes off

Yesterday, the 2nd of Oct The World March started from Wellington, New Zealand.
They've been on the road for one day now and we are psyched to welcome them to Sweden come the 29th of Oct.
Yesterday we also participated in the press conference held by the The World March co-ordinator in Sweden. Andrea did a awesome job in relaying what we are up to that among other things includes:
• 7 days in bed for peace at Clarion hotel Södermalm, Stockholm
• 12hrs a day live video-streaming on the Internet of the event.
• Hosting of Yoko's 13 Days Dance Festival for Peace from our beds
• Hosting of a Mass Bed-in the 29th of Oct from our beds
• Each day a new Dance Piece for Peace
• Theme days starting with "Opening Day", what else?

There will be a lot more going on during the week but it is a good idea to make a long lists short on a blog. Or so they tell me.

What we missed out on yesterday was Perfect Performance Inspirational shock taking place over at Dansens Hus. We were told it was a very cool event. Sad I missed it but some has to work. Really!

Peace!

Phat Sunday!

A new sponsor has arrived!

As most of you know, if you have followed us here on the blog, we will be broadcasting our Bed-in live over the Internet and show it on monitors on different locations over the city of Stockholm. Of course we invite other places in other countries to pick up our video-feed as well. We have a few leads but more about that later.

Ok, so when looking into the different solutions on what will be our final solution for the technical part of the video-streaming, we have to consider a lot of different aspects and altenatives.
One of the things we are looking into is setting up our own streaming server. Now, running your own streaming server has a lot of benefits but also a few extra kinks you need to consider.
One of the most critical issues is the bandwidth.
Consider that each video-stream in real nice quality requires around 300kps. Now if you do the math you soon realize it poses some serious problems if you are limited to the 2mbit bandwidth I measured in the room at Clarion.
Now we have a solution for this, a new sponsor!
We are happy to present Swelaser that will provide us with sufficient bandwidth in case we opt for using our own streaming-server.

Very cool! Peace.

Andrea Back

Back again from Oslo! After some norwegian "mushroom hunting" and "forest walking". Each time I go back to Oslo the swedish invasion of norwegian service jobs is more and more evident. The exotic feeling of coming home to norway is slowly being smudged. Lovely!
I kind of tried not to work at all while I was in Oslo so the long-distance work between me and Daniel was somewhat limited. But I worked a lot on my inner peace!

Today we picked out the winning pictures from the photo shoot and it felt quit good. And we look very good. I visited the newly opened coffee place to today Daniel and got some feedback on the pictures. (Malin liked my leg.)
The list of the 18 Grapefruiters is starting to take form.
Tomorrow I´m not completely sure what we will do but I really think we should workout a bit at the gym. Physical training helps the brain work and we were quit slow today.

Note: I really think the train connection between Stockholm and Oslo should go back to how it was some years ago when it took 4.30 min with the superduper x2000 train. Now it takes (minimum) 6 hours and I learned you can´t even bring your bike with you on the train anymore! Come on SJ! It feels like the train business is moving in completely the wrong direction. I´m worried.

I do like mondays

All the kinks regarding the upcoming Mass Bed-in the 29th of Oct and activities related to the Bed-in now seems to be sorted. Clarion hotell are really stepping up! I am very happy about this!
I also had a meeting with Ängla, who truly is an angel, and we talked about food and well, she just settled the whole deal in 15 minutes and that was that. Cous Cous FTW!
Now photosession at Clarion!

Food for the win

During a Bed-in you need to eat. Any activist needs to eat. Today we received the good news that we probably have some good people wanting to help us out by feeding us. This is great news!
Peace!

Bed-in Stockholm 2009 - Re-activism

In collaboration with Perfect Performance
(http://www.perfectperformance.se)
and The World March for Peace and Non-violence
(http://www.theworldmarch.org/) we will do a "Bed-in" at Clarion Hotell, Södermalm in Stockholm, Sweden, for Peace and to celebrate the 40:th anniversary of Yoko & Johns Bed-in in Amsterdam 1969.

The Bed-in will take place between the 24:th and 31:st of Oct, 2009.

We want to use our Bed-in to reactivate and bring forth a message of Peace. It's re-activism for peace.

We will be updating this with current news and activities.
