They danced for Peace

Found this poster backstage at Riddarfjärdsteatern, the second theatre Daniel ever performed at. It's from the 80's, a classic!
You can find names like Göran Blomkvist, Lotta Stenström, Patrik Sörling, Armand Gutheim, Siv Ander and Yvan Auzely among the players.

Ok, so it's far from perfect and sometimes the text metamorphosis totally destroys the actual meaning of what we are trying to say but as a whole, it is a nice tool. Use it at your own discretion, but be careful!

Phat Sunday!

A new sponsor has arrived!

As most of you know, if you have followed us here on the blog, we will be broadcasting our Bed-in live over the Internet and show it on monitors on different locations over the city of Stockholm. Of course we invite other places in other countries to pick up our video-feed as well. We have a few leads but more about that later.

Ok, so when looking into the different solutions on what will be our final solution for the technical part of the video-streaming, we have to consider a lot of different aspects and altenatives.
One of the things we are looking into is setting up our own streaming server. Now, running your own streaming server has a lot of benefits but also a few extra kinks you need to consider.
One of the most critical issues is the bandwidth.
Consider that each video-stream in real nice quality requires around 300kps. Now if you do the math you soon realize it poses some serious problems if you are limited to the 2mbit bandwidth I measured in the room at Clarion.
Now we have a solution for this, a new sponsor!
We are happy to present Swelaser that will provide us with sufficient bandwidth in case we opt for using our own streaming-server.

Very cool! Peace.

Show our bed-in

Oh Yes! We are looking for places to show our bed-in at clarion live streamed. It could be in a gallery, office, in your home, in a cinema, a theatre, in the sky etc
So if you want to show us somewhere during our bed-in or know of a good place where it can be projected let us know!

New participants

If you feel isolated and want to meet a lot of people you know, a good tip is to place yourself outside copacabana. I had a very nice meeting with my dear friend Sepidar and now Astrid, Pontus(in the picture), Sepidar and a lot of other people has signed up to participate in the Dance Peace Festival. Wicked! The list is getting longer. But we have a lot to do. Sepidar will also show our Bed-in live streamed at her exhibition at the gallery Hangups.
Over.

Spreading the word

Spent the day mailing, among others our super-producer Louise and the boss over at PP - he spoke passionately about football.

Ok, we are now trying to find florists who are willing to support our cause!
If you are a florist or know of any florists who you think would like to help us out, have them contact us!

Wednesday I went on a meeting with Mabel to Kulturhuset. We met with Jaana and Mabel explained what The World March is all about, about the Nuclear Abolition Flame initiated by the mayor of Hiroshima and activities taking place the 2nd of Oct. That's the date when the World March for Peace and Non-Violence will take off in New Zealand. If you've missed it, the march will arrive in Stockholm, Sweden the 28th of Oct, the night of our Mass Bed-in. I Spoke about our plans in conjunction with The World March - the Mass Bed-in. The meeting went well and among other things we spoke about showing the Bed-in at Kulturhuset. It would be fantastic - we won't march for peace but among other things we'll dance for peace.

Anders over at Mellqvist Kaffebar Södermalm said he'd be psyched about showing us on their wall during our Bed-in. Whoa, very close to home but very cool, if he can work it out.

So for now we have Mellqvist Söder, Clarion Söder and perhaps Kulturhuset on our list of places that will show the Bed-in. Where will this end? Heh!

Peace!

13 Days Peace Dance Festival in 6 days

Ok, so we have a dream. We would like to host the biggest Dance Festival to date. Participation-wise. Yes. The biggest. And while participating in this Dance Festival one would contemplate on the two words, "Imagine Peace".

So this is how we are thinking.

During our Bed-in for Peace in Oct between the 24th and 31st we will be hosting Yoko Ono's conceptual 13 Days Dance Festival for Peace from our beds. Our hope is to host the biggest Dance-festival on Earth and we are now looking all over the planet for participants who are willing to contemplate "Imagine Peace" while doing the dance-festival.

This is how it can work.
Every morning a new dance-instruction will be posted here on the blog.
Every participant make their own version on how to solve the instruction(s).
After done deed the participant produces a dance-report and hands it over to us - in any shape or form.
We post results, if possible, in our blog - every day!

Now, The Peace-Dance-Festival participants will get instructions on the daily activities/instructions here on our blog and they will then report in to us in any way they feel; commenting here on blog, video, SMS, email, chat, telephone or even telepathy for those with the ability.

It's easy! Remember, you define you participation; how it is done, how much time you spend and all the other how's.
You can be wherever in the world. We will even ask NASA to have a few move some for us.

Now, if you want to participate, sign up in the FORM to the right, just write your name and e-mail and CLICK or send us a note and we'll add you to the list of Festival-doers.

Do you know of a any florists, merchants, tailors, schools, other activists, dancers, artists, actors, taxidrivers, chefs, teachers, Facebook-friends and so forth you think would be interested in participating? Have them contact us now!

WE WANT YOU!
For 13 Days Peace Dance Festival!

Sign up HERE! All you do is fill out NAME and EMAIL and then you CLICK!

The Peace Dance Festival will take place between the 25-30 of October.

Peace!

Andrea Back

Back again from Oslo! After some norwegian "mushroom hunting" and "forest walking". Each time I go back to Oslo the swedish invasion of norwegian service jobs is more and more evident. The exotic feeling of coming home to norway is slowly being smudged. Lovely!
I kind of tried not to work at all while I was in Oslo so the long-distance work between me and Daniel was somewhat limited. But I worked a lot on my inner peace!

Today we picked out the winning pictures from the photo shoot and it felt quit good. And we look very good. I visited the newly opened coffee place to today Daniel and got some feedback on the pictures. (Malin liked my leg.)
The list of the 18 Grapefruiters is starting to take form.
Tomorrow I´m not completely sure what we will do but I really think we should workout a bit at the gym. Physical training helps the brain work and we were quit slow today.

Note: I really think the train connection between Stockholm and Oslo should go back to how it was some years ago when it took 4.30 min with the superduper x2000 train. Now it takes (minimum) 6 hours and I learned you can´t even bring your bike with you on the train anymore! Come on SJ! It feels like the train business is moving in completely the wrong direction. I´m worried.

I do like mondays

All the kinks regarding the upcoming Mass Bed-in the 29th of Oct and activities related to the Bed-in now seems to be sorted. Clarion hotell are really stepping up! I am very happy about this!
I also had a meeting with Ängla, who truly is an angel, and we talked about food and well, she just settled the whole deal in 15 minutes and that was that. Cous Cous FTW!
Now photosession at Clarion!

Off to plot

Friend called me, he wanted tapas.
So off it is, off to plot.
Could be worse.

Mediating the Bed-in

So we plan on mediating the whole Bed-in, save for a visit from the World Marchers for Peace that will drop by for lunch and a chat the 29th of Oct.

Did I mention it is between the 24th and the 31st of Oct? Ok, maybe I did, but there it goes. Those are the dates. Anyone interested in doing something, anything, participating in some way, get in touch with us.

Besides training today I managed to squeeze in a short visit to a newly opened coffee place at St Paulsgatan. And wouldn't you know, I just happened to run into an old colleague that just happened to know ppl in the right places when it comes to broadcasting the event. Let's just hope it all works out, then you can follow our daily dance-in-bed-endeavours every morning while having breakfast. Imagine that, having breakfast, contemplating Peace and getting a piece of dance for peace while sipping the morning Yirgacheffe. Life is good.

The visit at the coffeee-place ended on a minor though since I realized I had zilch in cash and they do not, still - which I think is kewl, accept credit-cards. No coffee for you mister!

And no Västerbottentoast either.

Food for the win

During a Bed-in you need to eat. Any activist needs to eat. Today we received the good news that we probably have some good people wanting to help us out by feeding us. This is great news!
Peace!

Kulturhuset - Mabel and no meeting

So I was on my way to a meeting with Mabel, the swedish coordinator of The World March for Peace and Non-violence but somehow we were planning on meeting different days. No meeting then! Standing there in front of Kulturhuset, I thought - great, this will give me another 2 hours to think about who to call considering the videostuff we are planning.

We were planning on working with this kewl video-artist that works with surveillance-cameras and modification of perceived occurrences through time-manipulations but the way it looks now, he is too busy to get involved. We will have to look for someone else. I have a few ideas but still, I need to make some calls to find the right person for this. Not only do this person need to understand the concept of mediating the Bed-in but also be tech savvy and perhaps have some experience in live editing and web-streaming. Not the most common professional profile but I'll call my good friend JP and check if he might have an opening somewhere with someone.

Andrea has gone to Norway and well, while working long-distance can be productive nothing beats sitting in the same room, around the same table. We will just have to keep pushing when she comes back. Still, Google Docs is a fantastic thing. Hooray.

Bed-in Stockholm 2009 - Re-activism

In collaboration with Perfect Performance
(http://www.perfectperformance.se)
and The World March for Peace and Non-violence
(http://www.theworldmarch.org/) we will do a "Bed-in" at Clarion Hotell, Södermalm in Stockholm, Sweden, for Peace and to celebrate the 40:th anniversary of Yoko & Johns Bed-in in Amsterdam 1969.

The Bed-in will take place between the 24:th and 31:st of Oct, 2009.

We want to use our Bed-in to reactivate and bring forth a message of Peace. It's re-activism for peace.

We will be updating this with current news and activities.
